- The qualified candidate will be involved in a major project to build a new substation and will be fully responsible for relay protection associated with that new station buildout.
- Perform detailed fault studies in CAPE and use results to perform settings calculations.
- Perform associated coordination studies, loadability studies, etc. as necessary.
- Develop setting files for protective relays including all associated documentation.
- Review, mark up, provide guidance to design engineering regarding project drawings.
- Provide oversight to protection and controls integration vendor including reviewing deliverables for accuracy.
- Assist in off-site and on-site acceptance testing of the system.
- Check installation design for regulatory compliance and present to regulators as needed.
- Additional tasks as necessary to develop the protection system for the new substation.
- The candidate must have at least 4 years of experience performing fault studies and setting protective relays at the transmission level.
- It is highly preferred if the candidate has IEC61850 experience as well.
