    Job Overview

    The Data Analyst/BI Developer will support the commercial team through building business intelligence tools and performing complex data analysis. As the first hire on this team, you will also build out data analytics environment, data sources and pipelines, document procedures and create dashboards for internal team members.

    Job Responsibilities and Essential Duties

    • As the first BI professional within the company, this person will wear multiple hats across the data lifecycle from BI Developer to Data Analyst to Business Analyst. Building out initial data environment, sourcing internal and external data, defining measurement and analytics strategy to support business KPIs, ad-hoc analysis, and building critical dashboards to run the business.
    • Conduct analytical queries using clinical trial, medical claims, survey, medical device data, and other data; devise methods for incorporating multiple datasets to examine business questions more fully; interpret data and apply statistical techniques.
    • Design, develop, and maintain business intelligence solutions from data pipelines to data quality, to dashboard/visualization to ad hoc analysis that drive business decisions.
    • Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure BI outputs address the desired business metrics and drill-down capabilities. Effective communication of data and more importantly business insight and recommendation based on the data and business objectives.
    • Develop sustainable and rigorous processes for ongoing data analysis and dashboarding maintenance, including speed of dashboards without compromising insights.
    • Collaborate with teams across the company to identify opportunities to leverage data to solve business problems and design user-friendly solutions.
    • Apply analytical skills to uncover new insights from our data to better understand our patients, expand our product pipeline, and support research and publications.
    • Support the growth of our data capabilities by helping optimize our analytical stack, applying innovative analytical techniques, such as machine learning (ML), and incorporating new data into our ecosystem.

    Minimum Requirements

    • 5+ years of experience analyzing prescription data and medical claims data (knowledgeable in payer data)
    • 5+ years of experience hands on data analysis: sourcing data, building pipelines, cleansing data, conducting statistical analyses, building dashboarding and recommending data driven business improvements.

    Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Skilled at data analysis, statistical methodologies, and proficient in one or more scripting languages, such as SQL, Python, or R.
    • Experience using disparate data sources for commercial operations from third party healthcare data, web/app behavior, medical device data, etc. to drive business decisions such as product/market decisions, field team planning, customer segmentation, and incentive compensation.
    • Experience querying large datasets and optimizing for analytical performance.
    • Strong working knowledge of data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and MicroStrategy.
    • Mastery of T-SQL and able to query and manipulate relational databases; experience in unstructured data, NoSQL is a plus.
    • Knowledge of Industry Standard billing codes such as ICD, CPT/HCPCS, and NDC.
    • Experience analysis data from third party providers such as IQVIA, MMIT, Symphony, Health Verity.
    • Eagerness to learn, a detail-oriented mindset, and a creative approach to problem-solving.
    • Effective communication to executive audiences that connects data insight/learning to clear business recommendations.
