**Responsibilities**
Transport students to and from school on AM, Midday, and PM routes Operate school van safely under a variety of weather and traffic conditions. Conduct pre-trip inspection and immediately report any known defect that may cause a problem. Complete and maintain the requirements necessary to hold a license and operate a Type III School Van Maintain an exemplary driving record both on and off the job Report any unsafe route conditions and recommend changes to the route Understand route information and strictly follow the information. Report any delay before it is too late and continuously update the status Comply with Company policies and procedures Adhere to all federal and state laws while transporting students Monitor student behavior and report to the company Assist special needs students on and off the van as needed Must attend all mandatory safety meetings and driver training, including defensive driving, student management, First Aid training, and all other applicable training Knowledge of and trained in the use of type III school bus safety equipment, two-way radio, and fire extinguishers Performs related duties as required

**Qualifications**
Must be at least 21 years of age Licensure: Class D (Operators) license Ability to pass pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol tests consistent with state and federal law Ability to assist students with patience and understanding Maintains good hygiene with a neat and clean appearance Good attendance Work collaboratively in a diverse environment with people of all ages, including students Ability to communicate effectively and follow written and oral communication. Demonstrated positive attitude towards people with whom one works, ability to work cooperatively, and willingness to accept instructions and training. Willingness to continuously learn and be open to feedback to improve individual performance
