    Company DescriptionOur client is an established Third Party Logistics provider (3PL) located in Northern New Jersey, with operations on both East and West Coasts.

    Objective of the RoleThe candidate will be tasked with overseeing the safe, efficient, and economical operations of the warehouse. This involves directing all aspects of the operation, including staffing, maintenance, safety, security, budgeting, customer service, and inventory control.

    The individual will also be instrumental in shaping the strategic vision for the operation, communicating these plans effectively to all staff members, and ensuring they align with the company's broader objectives.

    Ideal ProfileThe perfect candidate is a seasoned leader, well-versed in establishing and tracking SLAs and KPIs. They excel in developing strategies that optimize warehouse operations and facility utilization, while simultaneously ensuring customer satisfaction.

    Their proven ability to investigate and implement corrective actions, mentor and build strong teams, and foster a culture of continuous improvement, will be critical to their success in this role.

    ResponsibilitiesManage the daily operation of the warehouse, ensuring safety, security, and efficiency.
    Develop and communicate strategic visions and objectives to all staff members.
    Establish SLAs and KPIs, and track and report on progress regularly.
    Resolve escalated issues promptly, balancing the interests of both clients and the company.
    Implement corrective actions as required after identifying the root cause of any nonconformities.
    Create a space utilization plan to optimize storage and minimize inefficiencies.
    Maintain open lines of communication with clients and employees to build and foster relationships.
    Recruit, mentor, and retain diverse, high-performing talent and provide them with ongoing training and development opportunities.
    Ensure all warehouse staff are hired, onboarded, and trained appropriately.
    Foster a culture of continuous improvement by promoting teamwork and collaboration.
    Comply with all OSHA and MSDS regulations.
    Monitor warehouse operations to ensure neatness, security, safety, and organization.
    Maintain the physical condition of the warehouse, issuing work orders for any necessary repairs or replacements.
    Perform other related duties as needed.
    RequirementsMinimum of 8 years' experience in senior leadership roles in a large, omni-channel distribution facility.
    Experience with facility start-ups.

    Familiarity with servicing large retail and wholesale customers, such as Amazon, Walmart, Target, etc., and a thorough understanding of vendor compliance requirements.

    Proven track record of developing high-performing teams in new facilities.
    Comprehensive understanding of inventory control and cycle counts, with a track record of maintaining inventory accuracy.
    Proficiency with all Microsoft applications. Knowledge of 3PL warehouse operations, supply chain, and transportation preferred.
    Demonstrated high-level interpersonal and communication skills.

    Ability to work well under pressure, problem solve across various business processes, balance competing priorities, handle complex situations, and meet tight deadlines.
