    • Investigate and manage property claims including determining liability, gathering information, reviewing coverages, organizing appraisals, and settling claims.
    • The role of Claim Adjuster contributes to the Claims Division objective of maintaining a leading position in customer service and collaborates with agencies to provide seamless claims service, particularly on less complex claims.
    • You will conduct fieldwork handling homeowner property claims reporting to the Property Claim Manager. A company vehicle is supplied with this position.

    Preferred candidates will have experience in property field adjusting, and candidates with experience in mitigation/construction project management are also welcome.

    Position Compensation Range:

    $55,000.00 - $90,000.00

    Primary Accountabilities
    • Investigate the origin and cause of claims by contacting relevant parties such as insureds, claimants, agents, attorneys, and adjusters.
    • Handle both 1st party and 3rd party claims under various policy types and endorsements.
    • Conduct on-site inspections, assess damages, and negotiate claims with involved parties.
    • Interact with customers, make informed decisions, and close files as necessary.
    • Interpret and apply policies, contracts, and coverages to assigned losses.
    • Provide stakeholders with claim updates and information proactively.

    Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements
    • Demonstrated history of offering customer-oriented solutions and support.
    • Experience in managing 1st and 3rd party, multi-line claims or equivalent.
    • Experience handling moderately complex claims or equivalent.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of casualty coverages and claim handling processes.

    Licenses
    • Requires a valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.
    • Obtain any state-specific property casualty claims licensing as necessary.

    Travel Requirements
    • Up to 50% travel.
    • Catastrophe duty up to 75% as needed.

    Physical Requirements
    • Ability to navigate various physical environments and lift objects up to 50 pounds.
    • Willingness to work in varying conditions such as low/high temperatures, outdoor elements, and noisy environments.

    Working Conditions
    • Involves working in hazardous conditions, enclosed spaces, and locations outside a typical office setting.

    The selected candidate(s) will be employed by AFICS, Inc. (American Family Insurance Claims Services, Inc.), affiliated with American Family Mutual Insurance Company, S.I.

    This role offers a flexible work environment with a partial remote setup. While the majority of the work is from home, occasional in-person engagement activities like team meetings or training may require office visits.
