- Sets overall maintenance department goals, processes, and/or procedures to accomplish company objectives
- Ensures all health, safety, and regulations are followed
- Creates a preventive maintenance system as well as processes & procedures to keep day-to-day operations running smoothly
- Oversees, motivates, and reviews maintenance team members, including training
- Manage relationships with contractors and service providers
- Monitor equipment inventory and place orders when necessary
- Monitor electrical and hydraulic systems of facilities to ensure functionality
- Plan and oversee all repair and installation activities
- Maintain maintenance logs and report on daily activities
- Creates a budget for department
- Ensure that company facilities are fit for purpose and to provide proactive support/solutions when required
- Other duties as assigned
- High school diploma necessary and degree in a related field preferred
- Extensive knowledge in a variety of mechanical systems
- Managerial experience highly preferred
- 5+ years of experience working in manufacturing related maintenance
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and speaking skills
- Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Should demonstrate leadership in working as a team member, with/among team members
- Strong ethical standards
- Strong organizational skills
- Detail-oriented
- Strong negotiation skills with vendors
- Ability to manage multiple projects
- Strong project management skills
- General Production hours - 5:30am to 4pm (M - Th)
- A continuous learning attitude on production and company related areas is encouraged
- Throughput, inventory, and operational expense are the pillars of the UMIC operating philosophy
- Must be able to lift, push, pull up to 50lbs.
- Must be able to sit, stand, bend, stoop, climb and walk for extended periods of time
- Must be able to work in all types of temperatures and in a manufacturing environment
