- Performing engineering calculations for various aspects of facilities study, voltage drop, equipment sizing, pole loading, etc.
- Demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of the full project life cycle
- Creating and reviewing engineering drawings and bill of materials for utility infrastructure projects
- Designing distribution facilities in adherence to client and NESC standards, encompassing overhead and underground distribution facilities such as equipment installation, line extension, voltage optimization, and more
- Maintaining strong client relationships
- Implementing engineering concepts in alignment with industry standards
- Preparing and developing overhead and underground distribution work packages utilizing GIS, CAD, WMS, and other client systems
- Handling field work, engineering, design, and drafting for projects of varying complexity
- EIT – engineer in training certification is a plus
- Familiarity with overhead and underground construction specifications
- Proficiency in distribution systems and design
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in engineering/drafting overhead and underground distribution projects
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to adapt standard techniques and procedures
- Experience with NESC and construction standards
- Familiarity with GE SmallWorld, ESRI ArcGIS/ArcFM, Pole Foreman, AutoCAD, Asset Suite, Maximo, Hyperion, etc.
- Ability to work both in the field and office settings
- Strong work ethic
- BS in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program, preferably in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience; Master's degree in Engineering can substitute 1 year of experience
- Experience working with electric utilities or consulting firms, involved in design engineering and team leadership
- Must be based out of the Chicago suburb office
- Valid Driver's License and clean driving record
