Job summary
The Emergency Department (ED) Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing competent evidence-based care to assigned patients They delegate and supervise basic nursing care of licensed practical nurses and unlicensed assistive personnel The nurse will assist in directing the provision of nursing education orientation competencies and providing quality improvement and outcomes utilization Practice includes directing other providers Partners with the patient family and interdisciplinary team to promote effective safe transitions across the health care continuum Provides urgent emergent care to patients with acute or chronic medical surgical psychiatric conditions Nursing care ranges from basic nursing care to stabilization resuscitation life support measures Ability formulate plan of car based on nursing assessments ED RN is responsible accountable all elements of nursing process when providing car Assess patient collecting pertinent data including triage patients based five-level triage system prioritize patients require more immediate car Use assessment data determine diagnoses problems concerns Identify expected outcomes develop collaborative individualized plan each patient Implement that plan include car coordination health teaching health promotion Evaluate progress achieving expected goal outcomes adjusts plan necessary All other duties assignedJob description
