Job Summary
The Special Imaging Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Management team in the supervision planning organizing and improvement of work processes in Radiology services such as Diagnostic RadiologyInteroperative CT MRI US IR or Nuclear Medicine as instructed by the Director and/or Radiologist Performs department orientation teaches coaches supervises staff and performs imaging exams in the modalities that they supervise Assures the organizations vision mission values and goals are adhered to and understood Recommends and assists in development of policiesand procedures to comply with regulatory organizations and Baylor Scott & White Health philosophy Acts as a department liaison in the manager's absence ,
Responsibilities
- Oversees delivery quality of imaging services with respect to turnaround times quality of exams performed patient preparation timely accurate cost-efficient manner compliance established System regulatory standards policies procedures Performs procedures needed due workload complexity Ensures adequate staffing levels supplies resources available perform exams clinical services meet clinical demands Schedules monitors evaluates modifies staffing patterns provide service assigned areas Interviews counsels completes performance evaluations Trains new staff Ensures all registrations certifications current file up-to-date Collaborates management team staff conduct multidisciplinary staff meetings ensure consistent timely communication throughout department Facilitates goal setting staff working imaging sections Monitors goals achievements ensures outcome reflected annual performance evaluations Encourages employees participate Employee Satisfaction Surveys Patient Safety surveys activities providing service feedback results staff Initiates plan action related areas improvement Collaborates Management develop budget department including providing feedback new replacement equipment services needed continued growth monitors operational budgets implements corrective action plans negative productivity operating expense variances Promotes culture service excellence imaging sections collaborating management communicate service excellence patient centeredness expectations customer satisfaction survey results Holds self-staff accountable service excellence areas responsibility facilitates reward recognition imaging sections Radiology Acts Radiology liaison other departments Develops maintains cooperative working relationships physicians medical departments gather exchange information develops implement solutions problems Assist ensuring imaging sections compliant Joint Commission Accreditation Healthcare Organizations JCAHO Texas Department Health TDH standards accrediting bodies Identifies patient requirements utilizing AIDET communicating patients correct exam correct patient establishing personal rapport potential actual patients persons position understand requirements Coordinates leads groups focusing safety customer performance environment employee engagement physician engagement quality improvement interdepartmental relations participates shared governance hospital professional committees This includes LEAN initiatives projects interdepartmental committees professional organization participation QC assurance radiologist etc Able perform quality advanced procedures according protocol System regulatory standards policies timely manner explain procedure put patients ease Able perform tasks independently need routine oversight Maintain calm helpful attitude even under stress take appropriate reasonable steps resolve issues Ensure customer satisfaction limiting wait times providing courteous remaining professional reviewing patient satisfaction performance developing action plans required Demonstrates maintains current knowledge education skills appropriate care following age groups specific department newborn pediatric young adult adult geriatric Serve preceptor providing training new members initiate on-new-services initiatives Make tactical decisions allocation direction supervised employees using established guidelines policies Procedures effective hiring termination recommendations Train evaluate supervised-employees General computer skills Microsoft Office information security scheduling payroll systems electronic documentation email Take call if required
