The department of Surgery has an exciting opportunity for a Research Associate 1, SOM position. The incumbent supports research activities for the assigned division by conducting laboratory experiments on assigned research projects. Moreover, the incumbent operates with the goal of advancing his/her expertise through continued education, training, and research.CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

Department Specific Functions
Research Associate position is available immediately in the laboratory of Dr. Rumela Chakrabarti in the Department of Surgery, Miller School of Medicine, University of Miami. The lab is interested in understanding drug resistance and lack of response of patients to therapies in breast cancer. Particularly, we are interested in understanding the crosstalk with immune cells and cancer cells in breast cancer.
Our projects rely heavily on mouse models (knockout mice, conditional knockout mice, transgenic mice, PDX mice) and primary cell culture and cell line models (2D/3D organoids).
