Job summary
Competence in carrying out technical, direct patient care skills to assist Emergency Department ED and Critical Care CC staff RNs and/or physicians. Responsibilities include setting up and safely operating various equipment assisting in completing restraint record documenting performance of skills and patient data accurately providing needed supplies used throughout various areas of the department/unit cleaning reusable equipment organizing storage areas maintaining required professional certifications attending 50% of department meetings/in-services reading signing off on meeting minutes when absent participating in orientation of other staff members by acting as preceptor sharing experiences knowledge assisting others learn demonstrating commitment to teaching/learning maintaining required professional certifications attending 50% of department meetings/in-services reading signing off on meeting minutes when absent participating in orientation of other staff members by acting as preceptor sharing experiences knowledge assisting others learn promoting patients safety reporting issues through established channels participating safety initiatives communicating accurate complete information regarding patient procedural data to RN MD documents performance skills patient data accurately concisely on patient record communicates regarding broken missing damaged ED equipment Inventory Clerk replacement repair labels malfunctioning portable equipment takes malfunctioning portable equipment Inventory Clerk posts appropriate signage malfunctioning fixed equipment reports such Inventory Clerk ensures all ED hallways clear cleans reusable evidence aids transport central sterilization as needed organizes cleans storage areas necessary.Job description
