    Position Available:

    Research Nurse (Specialization in Cardiology/Internal Medicine)

    Location: Wright Patterson Air Force Base, OH (On-Site)

    Salary Range: $115,000 - $125,000

    Job Summary: Advent Services is in search of a competent Research Nurse to provide support to the Internal Medicine Branch of the USAFSAM Aerospace Medicine Consultation Division. The focus will be on aiding in cardiology data analysis.


    Mandatory Qualifications:

    • U.S. Citizenship is a must.
    • Nurse scientist with demonstrated knowledge of research methodologies, experience in conducting independent research, and familiarity with regulations concerning human subjects' research.
    • Master's degree in nursing or a related field.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in medical research.
    • Proficiency in Cardiology and/or Internal Medicine.
    • Experience in reviewing electronic medical records and data compilation.
    • Skilled in database input, analysis, and basic programming.
    • Strong technical writing and presentation skills, including the ability to conduct scientific literature reviews. The ability to develop well-crafted research proposals, manuscripts, technical reports, and presentations.
    • Completion of Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) and HIPAA training before commencing employment.

    Highly Desired Qualifications:

    • Experience in presenting research at scientific conferences and publishing in peer-reviewed medical journals.
    • Previous military service or exposure to a military research environment.
    • PhD in Nursing Science or a related field.
    • Specialized knowledge in Cardiology.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Reviewing medical records, particularly electronic records, to compile data for analysis.
    • Assisting in data analysis using both qualitative and quantitative techniques as per research objectives.
    • Drafting and editing study protocols, proposals, abstracts, manuscripts, presentations, and posters.
    • Collaborating with colleagues, medical professionals, and government officials to achieve research objectives.
    • Conducting literature reviews, participating in meetings with various organizations and experts in the field.
    • Ensuring the confidentiality of documents, communications, and research data.
    • Compliance with regulatory requirements (IRB, IACUC, etc.) and working closely with project managers to meet project milestones.
