- Sort soiled hospital linen according to established guidelines, ensuring proper separation of different types of linens and garments.
- Inspect linen for stains, tears, or damage, and identify items that require special treatment or repairs.
- Remove foreign objects, such as needles or medical instruments, from linen to prevent damage to laundry equipment.
- Operate sorting machinery safely and efficiently, following all safety protocols and procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the soil sorting area, including regular cleaning of work surfaces and equipment.
- Assist in loading soiled linen into conveyors, following loading instructions and safety guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of tasks.
- Adhere to quality control standards and guidelines to ensure that all linen meets cleanliness and sanitation requirements.
- Ensure all PPE is on property and used to standards and safety guidelines.
- Prior experience in a laundry or production environment preferred, but not required.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to differentiate between different types of linen.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
