    As Business Development Manager, Eastern USA you will be responsible for sharing our passion for exploration and growing our sales.


    HX Hurtigruten Expedition Americas is looking for a Business Development Manager (BDM) Eastern USA responsible for maximizing the sales potential within a designated territory, by cultivating strong relationships with existing partners, identifying new partner prospects and driving brand awareness for HX Expeditions.

    By effectively representing our brand to the travel industry and the public, BDMs strive for successful execution of their sales plan and achievement of revenue targets.

    The ideal candidate will already have experience working in an account management capacity within the travel industry. This role travels frequently within respected territory.
    We are looking for a business development manager who has the exceptional ability to:


    • Identify and set annual sales targets with key accounts; work with the territory Sales Director on marketing plans/co-op spend to help achieve sales targets and seek every opportunity to maximize ROI against spend.
    • Build and nurture territory accounts and uncover new business development opportunities to meet profitability targets.
    • Provide ongoing opportunity status updates and an accurate forecast to management and capture relevant information in Salesforce.
    • Be a brand ambassador for both Hurtigruten Expeditions; educate partners through webinars and in-person agency trainings, represent our brands at consumer events, national tradeshows, product launches and FAM trips.
    • Actively seek group business; coordinate with and provide relevant assistance to the Groups Team throughout the process.
    • Stay abreast of competitor activities and general trends within the industry. Provide feedback to relevant team members.
    • Manage a travel and expense budget; ensure that the potential for ROI is taken into consideration.

    Qualifications:
    Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

    3-5 years sales and customer service experience in the travel industry required; preferably in an account management role.

    Proficient in Salesforce, Zoom and Microsoft Office applications including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams

    Able to confidently inspire through presentations to consumers and our partners, engage as a credible trainer, and able to deliver on our brands unique selling propositions (USPs)

    Able to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends.

    Excellent oral and written English required.


    Passionate about exploring our beautiful world sustainably, a lover of the outdoors and willingness to learn and (quite literally) expand your horizons.

    Must have a valid passport and be able to travel within Canada/US, and internationally as required.

    This position requires a lot of travel.

    Employee must reside in New York City, New Jersey, Boston or Chicago


    Collaboration:


    General Manager VP of Americas, territory Senior Sales Director and Inside Sales to ensure alignment on sales strategies and OKR's.

    Work closely with sales operations support to uncover territory opportunities through data and analytics.

    Partner with Groups Specialist on groups details and coordination

    Works closely with Customer Service Representatives to ensure customer satisfaction and problem resolution.


    Benefits:
    Salary for this position is $90K USD plus Sales Incentive Plan.
