    Position Details:
    • Perform activities to support manufacturing, assist technical R&D, and if needed help with new product development
    • Interact with internal customers downstream to gather input and translate that into needs and wants for new product design, product improvement, and failure analysis
    • Involved in design reviews where critical thinking is required
    • Research mechanical and electrical features that will improve product performance
    • Develop, evaluate, and enhance manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards
    • Driven to constantly improve process capability and production volume while maintaining and improving quality and safety standards
    • Must be willing and eager to work directly with operations and production personnel to assist in building prototypes and fixtures
    • Improve production rates, efficiencies, yields, and changeovers
    • Leverage and implement lean/continuous improvement principles and tools in everyday work to solve problems and improve the worksite
    • Be a champion of standardized work and procedures
    • Work with vendors for successful manufacturing of all mechanical and electrical components
    • Comfortable in designing mechanical parts and producing drawings with appropriate dimensions, tolerances, and GD&T references
    • Performs FEA analyses to optimize electro-mechanical designs
    • Support the company's goals of quality, performance, delivery, and safety
    • Maintain reliable and safe manufacturing systems
    • Identify, develop and deliver innovative solutions
    • Travels up to 2 weeks per year to interact with customers, vendors, and support tradeshows
    Minimum Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field from an ABET accredited institution
    • 3 years' experience in Mechanical Engineering or related field
    • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all stakeholders both in person and with tools such as Microsoft Word & PowerPoint
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
    • Proficient in SolidWorks

    Physical Demands:
    • Normal working conditions absent extreme factors
    • Must be able to see well enough to read reports, send emails, etc.
    • Must be able to hear and speak well enough to communicate with customers and fellow employees
    • Must be able to lift up to 45lbs periodically
    • Role is deemed safety-sensitive and may be subject to employer or customer drug testing
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Data acquisition and analysis skills (JMP, MATLAB, python, etc.)
    • Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
    • Strong desire to learn and be a problem solver
    • Strong understanding of Statistical Process Control/Six Sigma
    • Self-motivated and not afraid to approach people and ask questions and get help
    • Accept critical feedback related to both professional and personal development
    • Experience and knowledge related to quartz
