    Job Description

    An experienced Outside Machinist is required to join our team at the San Diego Naval Shipyard Industry. As a Lead Marine, you will be responsible for leading a team of mechanics and ensuring that daily tasks are completed on time and in a safe manner.

    Responsibilities:

    • Install, adjust, set and repair or replace various control, regulating or safety devices such as meters, gauges, valves, governors and automatic alarms.
    • Lay out passage holes on bulkheads, decks, and other surfaces for connections, for example shafting and steam lines.
    • Manage and ensure that daily required tasks are completed on time and in a safe manner.
    • Detect and locate grounds, open circuits and short circuits in distribution generators and systems.

    Requirements:

    • Prior naval experience is preferred.
    • Candidates must be able to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and schematics.
    • Valve & auxiliary maintenance/repair experience is required.

    Estimated Salary: $27.50 - $35.00 per hour.
