    WHAT DO WE DO?

    CHSI is a private, non-profit organization established in 1973 to serve the health needs of migrant & seasonal farm workers and their family members. Today, CHSI has expanded services and provides mental & physical healthcare to all individuals in our communities. Our services are provided on a more affordable sliding fee scale to those who are under-insured or un-insured. We also accept ND and MN Medicaid, Medicare, and most private insurance plans. We currently operate four nurse-managed clinics, two mobile medical units, and two victim advocacy program centers in Minnesota & North Dakota.

    WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

    We are on the search for a Full-Time Licensed Practical Nurse to join our Willmar, MN team.

    Summary

    The Licensed Practical Nurse's primary job function is to promote efficient clinic flow by assisting the provider and/or nurse with day-to-day tasks, performing functions within the laboratory, assisting patients with clinic paperwork as necessary, and interpreting and translating for CHSI staff as needed.

    Primary Duties

    Complete pre-visit preparation documentation. Assists the provider and nurse with health-related duties such as vital sign collection and recording, basic in-house labs, calling patients to inform them of test results, and other duties assigned by clinical staff. Assists the nurse or provider with routine office operations, examinations, patient education, and referrals. Assists patients in signing release forms and faxing vaccine and procedure consent forms. Preparation and administration of immunizations are done at the discretion of the RN. Interprets and translates for CHSI staff as needed. Completes scheduled patient intake and encourages efficient clinic flow, ensuring patient needs are met before they leave.

    Education & Skills

    1. Education: high school diploma
    2. Certification/Licensure: BLS/CPR, LPN
    3. Good communication skills are required in English.
    4. Must be a self-motivated individual with good organizational skills.
    5. Experience working in the healthcare field is preferred, but not necessary.
    6. Must have good computer skills.

    • Ability to bend and crouch occasionally, sit continuously, and stand or walk frequently.
    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
    • Ability to use hands/arms, feet/legs for repetitive fine to large motor skill movements.
