This position will be based in our Elk Grove Illinois Central Distribution Center as part of the electrical wholesale industry.
Responsibilities
- Use wire cutting machines to cut strip and terminate wire cuts Performs task in the areas of machine set up machine operation and machine general maintenance May also use manual tools to cut andor strip wire and cable Works under direct supervision of warehouse supervisors Essential Functions Identify proper specifications from customer orders in EclipsePrint Cutting Labels for Accuracy and customer satisfactionManually and digitally set up wire cutting machines to order specificationsBasic maintenance and troubleshooting of wire cutting machines for proper set up and operationInspect products to ensure wire is NOT damaged before during cutting processMinimize scrap through proper operation bin location maintenance for remnantsCommunicate any problems with machine or product issues to supervisorsMaintain daily Cycle counts for the wire centerMaintain a Safe Clean work environmentRequirements Education Knowledge Training Experience Licenses Certification Fluent English verbal writtenMechanical skillsknowledge machine operation experience desirableKnowledge of wireType terminatingmachineoperationdesirableSit Down Stand Up Forklift CertifiedMathematical SkillsPhysical RequirementsoftheEssentialFunctions thisPosition Bending twisting motions requiredPushing pulling fully loaded manual pallet jacks cartsGood manual dexterity hand eye coordinationAbility see differentiate colors Corrected vision allowsAbility read small alphanumeric letters distance inchesAbility lift boxes spools wire poundsAbility work standing many tasks require standing all dayAbility maintain brisk pace meet generally accepted production rates
