Description
Position: Director of Operations
Organization: New Partners Community Solar Corp. We are a small DC-based solar nonprofit passionate about our highly-effective work—including developing innovative demonstration projects to foster our mission and provide models for others to join us in promoting Environmental Justice.
Our Mission: We believe that the health, environmental and economic benefits of renewable energy should be accessible to everyone, regardless of income.
Our Work: We finance and install new solar energy systems on a variety of rooftops, partner with nonprofit affordable housing developers, and convert the energy benefits into financial assistance to low-income families and individuals.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree required. A relevant higher education degree is a plus.
Experience with non-profit organizations and/or energy or environmental work is preferred.
Early career candidates with relevant training, education and experience are welcome to apply.
Salary: Range $90,000 to $120,000, equal with experience.

Position Location: Washington DC Metropolitan Area.
Duties and Responsibilities:
An ideal candidate will have experience in a number of the following duties and responsibilities and the enthusiasm to learn, work, and engage in our mission. The position will involve hands-on work with all aspects of our operations. Training will be provided, as necessary.
Solar Program and Project Management
· Work with building owners and developers to facilitate new community-benefitting solar installations.
· Work with budgets and financial projections as part of new project development and management.
· Monitor, manage, and report solar energy production.
· Meet onsite with solar developers, property owners, and third-party contractors.
· Coordinate with third-party operations and maintenance providers.
· Manage sale of solar production credits with third-party broker.
Subscriber Management
· Manage registration and delivery of benefits to low-income residents.
· Meet and communicate with affordable housing partners, government agencies and the electric utility.
Corporate Reporting and Board of Directors
· Assist with corporate reporting to investors, lenders, and grantors, including for federal 501(c)(3) charitable status and corporate compliance.
· Plan and coordinate meetings of the Board of Directors.
· Track and manage charitable donations.
Accounting, Tax, and Insurance
· Develop and manage annual budget.
· Coordinate review of financial statements, payroll, and tax filings with accountants and auditors. Manage bank accounts.
· Maintain and manage insurance with third-party broker.
· Manage sale of green credits through third-party broker.
Community Events and Media Outreach:
· Plan tours, coordinate visits, and assist with presentations to students, job trainees, and delegations.
· Manage website, assist with content updates, and coordinate changes with web developer and other team members.
Development
· Assist with development and fundraising strategies by maintaining relationships with funding organizations and with individual donors and foundations. Collaborate on grant applications.
Media Advocacy and Education
· Manage press and social media outreach.
· Participate in seminars and engage with stakeholders to advance our environmental justice mission.
