    Job Duties
    Sitter and Barfoot is recruiting for a Wage Occupational Therapist.
    Hours may not exceed 1500 in a year between May 1st - April 30th.

    Working Schedule is flexible with the option to work Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
    OR Tuesday and Thursday with additional hours as needed.


    • Establishes skilled OT treatment plans for residents; conducts skilled OT services to residents once treatment plans are made.
    • Completes all required documentation in accordance with departmental agency and state policies and related to Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement in accordance with departmental and agency policies.
    • Ensures assessments are completed within established timeframes and that cost information is forwarded to the appropriate sources in a timely manner.
    • Provides training for OT related services implemented by non-OT staff as assigned or as necessary.
    • Reviews medical records to collect data that is relevant to the assessment as assigned and instructed.
    • Gathers additional assessment information through interviews of client, staff, and family as assigned.
    • Completes initial evaluation and subsequent re-certifications as needed.
    • Maintains OT, personal office space and equipment in a safe and clean manner.
    • Passes residents on to therapy assistants for treatment and supervises and collaborates with assistants on ongoing basis throughout treatment duration.
    • All other duties as assigned by management.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Knowledge of OT and developmental disabilities
    • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
    • Ability to and coordinate work of the rehab department and work cross-functionally with other departments as needed.
    • Ability to use computer application software.
    • Bachelor's degree in occupational therapy
    • Licensed or eligible to practice in Virginia as an OT

    Additional Considerations

    • Previous professional occupational therapy experience in a long term care or adult geriatric setting preferred.
