- Maintain patient confidentiality as it is described in HIPAA Privacy Act
- Submit timely accurate insurance claims utilizing billing software
- Timely follow up with patients insurance companies on unpaid claims until resolution this includes understanding payor denial reasons payor appeals process sending necessary medical records resolving credit balance accounts research understanding processed claims determine why there's credit balance work with insurance company process refunds appropriately reviews explanation benefits coverage determine best course action analyze denial trends staff organizational education purposes identify report any billing system payer issues Patient Financial Services System Analyst Manager appropriate research identify new updated billing regulations notify Revenue Cycle System Analyst Manager assist patients payment options explaining alternative funding options handle incoming patient calls emails regarding patient accounts assist identifying educational opportunities training registration staff billing regulations requirements responsible reviewing clinician notes ensure accurate billing ensure payer governmental agency regulatory compliance requirements consistently followed applied process insurance rejections denials requests additional information invoices Medical Records timely manner research online medical bulletins policies pricing contractual issues Reviews clinical documentation coding claim determine times services provided to patients applied correctly prepares mails written rationale reconsideration request tracks all denials database reporting maintains established timelines follow outstanding appeal reconsideration requests collaborates Revenue Cycle Management clinical departments resolve claim issues needed perform duties assigned Manager demonstrate excellent customer service standards behaviors encourages coaches monitors same team members promotes teamwork direct communication coworkers deal discretely sensitively confidential information contribute identifying problems seeking solutions promote patient family satisfaction possible participates departmental efforts monitor report customer service maintain confidentiality communications personnel reports healthcare interactions comply state federal laws ensures HIPAA Security Rule compliance maintain current knowledge relevant laws regulations affected position actively participate ongoing education ensure proficient skill level required function perform other duties assigned by manager
