About the Role
Tendit Group Company is hiring an Estimator to join our growing team. The Estimator will create work estimates for our business development operations.
What You Will Do:
Research and locate all potential bid opportunities daily; input all potential bids in tracking software and update weekly.
Answer incoming calls and emails about Requests for Quote (RFQs). Review drawings, specifications, and proposed project site conditions.
Analyze alternative solutions and construction methods, considering conditions and the competitiveness of the bid.
Review and provide accurate take-off quantities to ensure profitable projects.
Review take-off quantities to ensure the accuracy of data used in estimates.
Present estimates and participate in bid reviews with senior management to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Follow-up post bid for bid information and contracts.
Create strategic alliances to ensure competitiveness and communicate with and develop relationships with businesses, contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Develop and maintain business relationships to increase regional or end-market bid opportunities.
Help project managers (PMs) gather information on the project's material orders.
Maintain relationships with vendors of material.
What You Will Need:
Minimum of one (1) year relevant work experience in estimating.
A High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
Knowledge of construction principles and equipment capabilities.
Must communicate effectively, clearly, and professionally in both oral and written form.
Highly skilled in the use of Microsoft Office and very proficient in Microsoft Excel.
Able to work under pressure.
Ability to establish and maintain accurate working relations, open mind, impeccable organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks.
Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
A willingness to come in daily and help the company improve upon the previous day.
Bilingual is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to sit, stand, kneel, crouch, and walk for extended periods.
Ability to lift 50 pounds occasionally (Team lift or utilizing equipment)
Requires driving between company or customer locations.
Overnight travel less than 10%

Compensation for this position is $50,000 - $60,000 annually, depending on experience.
