job summary:
A Senior Packaging Engineer is needed for the world's largest food and beverage company in the Hartwell, GA area.

This position leads the planning, coordination, and execution of packaging process engineering functions, ensuring the optimal selection of equipment technologies for primary and secondary packaging in the production of pet foods and treats.

responsibilities:

• Provide packaging engineering process design and review for capital projects
• Coordinate work with outside consultants, suppliers
• Apply broad knowledge of standards, principles, practices in packaging specialties
• Support continuous improvement efforts, technical assistance to operating facilities
• Investigate, analyze problem areas, opportunities for packaging, process enhancements
• Apply understanding of line balancing, equipment specification, vendor coordination, testing
• Assist in developing/modifying department technical guidelines, standards, specifications
• Communicate, collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field
• strong plus:

OHSA, Project Management (e.g., PMP/PMI), LEAN Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement (e.g., Six Sigma, Green/Black Belt)

MUST HAVE:
5 years of packaging equipment engineering experience
strong experience in secondary packaging for Packing Line 3 product
Hands-on experience and ability to work in the field
