- Lead problem solving and root cause identification efforts for nonconforming product and customer complaints.
- Work with other departments, such as Production, R&D, Planning and Procurement to develop and implement corrective action plans.
- Verify effectiveness of corrective actions through various methods, such as audits and data collection and analysis.
- Review and improve as needed the current QC test methods and procedures.
- Work with R&D to develop quality standards and testing protocols for customer/product trials and qualifications.
- Track and report quality metrics to the Quality Manager.
- Visit customers and suppliers if necessary for quality incident investigations. May travel up to 25%.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Bachelor's degree in engineering
- Minimum 2 years' experience in packaging manufacturing specifically in a Quality Engineering role.
- Proficient in Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Understanding of process capability and validation.
- Auditing experience required.
- Comprehensive knowledge of a Quality Management System and global standards, such as GFSI and ISO 9001.
- Self-motivated and able to multi-task and change priorities as issues arise.
- Excellent computer skills, particularly in the use of spreadsheets, databases, and statistical applications such as Minitab.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, including the ability to facilitate teams and work successfully in a team environment.
