Heaquarters is located in Sandy, Utah however, this position is remote and can be worked from anywhere in the U.S.

Telarus, LLC, a Technology Solutions Brokerage, is seeking a Database Engineer to work within our Technology group. We provide web-based services enabling sales agents to quote and provision everything from business cable to multi-location fiber and cloud services from over 300 major Telecom and IT providers. This position will be working closely with our Development, Executive and Business Analytics teams to create database solutions for various purposes.

Required skills:

1. Ability to read and write complex SQL statements, stored procedures, views and queries.
2. 5+ years experience with SQL server, MySQL, PostgreSQL or another relational database management system (SQL Server preferred.)
3. Intermediate to advanced knowledge of ETL and reporting systems, including ETL, data warehousing and data analytics.
4. Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Azure Data Factory or equivalent technology.
5. Strong communication skills; ability to read requests and requirements and translate those into functional and accurate queries and/or reports.
6. Ability to think critically and identify problems with requests and work users through issues to a satisfactory solution.

Bonus skills:

1. Experience with creating and editing Salesforce reports.
2. Experience with data structures and querying inside of the Salesforce environment.
3. Experience with Azure SQL as a Service, Azure DevOps.
4. Ability to create great visualizations with reporting tools, preferably Tableau.

What we'll ask you to do:

• Work with reporting developers and Executive Management to deliver accurate and highly performant datasets to drive company reporting.
• Assist in maintaining the reporting database, as well as create new data structures as needed to help transition load from transactional server to reporting database.
• Work with software developers as needed to craft complex queries or help troubleshoot performance problems.
• Ensure nightly jobs are completing successfully and within time constraints.
• Work with outsourced teams and contractors on long- and short-term projects to help ensure accurate and performant deliverables.
