Job Overview

LAMB is looking to hire an enthusiastic music teacher to support students in PK3-Kindergarten. If you have experience with students in grades PK3 through 5th grade, apply today

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide weekly music instruction for PK3 through 5th grade students during school hours and during the aftercare program
• Respect and support the equal valuation of Spanish and English language skills and cultural traditions in the classroom, and include music from diverse cultural and linguistic traditions
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate the music curriculum into daily work cycles
• Prepare students to perform in school ceremonies, festivals, and performances
• Be responsible for the welfare, safety, and educational achievements of students
• Manage the educational setting in a manner that promotes positive student behavior and a safe and healthy environment
• Participate in meetings, trainings, and/or planning cooperatives to fully serve children's needs
• Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications

• Experience and/or training in teaching students in PK3-5th grade (Orff, Kodaly, and Dalcroze techniques preferred)
• Energetic, flexible, imaginative and eager to work in a bilingual and multicultural public school with a strongly established musical and artistic culture
• B.M. or M.M.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred
• Demonstrated ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds
• Open to becoming familiar with Montessori philosophy and method of education
• Experience working with a multidisciplinary team (e.g. general education teachers, special education teachers, occupational therapist, speech and language pathologist)
• Able to maintain confidentiality and sensitivity to parent, staff, and student needs and information
• Experience with Google Workspace

Reports to: Principal

Schedule: 10-month full-time position

Compensation

Salary is commensurate with experience, ranging from $49,880 to $87,930. Generous benefits package includes medical insurance (health, dental, & vision), retirement plan, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability, flexible spending account (medical, dependent care, and transit), and vacation/sick leave.
