    Purpose:
    The Major Gifts Officer will successfully identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors with the potential to make major gifts to the School to support strategic fundraising priorities

    Qualifications:

    CFRE credentials preferredRelated experience leading a similar program in a not-for-profit environment, preferably educationHigh degree of initiative along with strong organizational skillsKnowledge of fundraising principles and strategies preferredDemonstrated success closing major gift solicitationsAbility to read and interpret documents and draft routine reports and correspondenceAbility to work collaboratively with all constituentsDemonstrated competency with internet functions, as well as all relevant software applications, experience with Raiser's Edge a plusExperience cultivating donor relationships and fundraisingHigh professional and ethical standards in handling confidential informationAbility to organize and complete multiple tasks with close attention to detail and deadlinesExcellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skillsAbility to think and plan strategically and creativelyMust be willing to work extended hours and travel as neededGeneralMust demonstrate and enthusiastically support the School's MissionA willingness to perform in a manner that reflects positively on The Bolles SchoolMust have the ability and willingness to communicate well, work congenially, and deal effectively with all school personnel and school families, as well as with the larger business and educational communityAs a member of the Bolles team, perform other duties as requested by the President or other AdministratorsEssential FunctionsDevelop and implement leadership and planned gift strategies for a prospect portfolio of up to 150Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward prospects with a goal of 12-15 visits per monthWork with members of the school community, including the CAO, to identify and cultivate prospectsCollaborate with other Advancement team members including Annual Giving, Alumni Relations, Parent Programs, Advancement Records, and CommunicationEnsure and maintain proper documentation of leadership and planned gifts in partnership with Advancement RecordsWrite solicitation and acknowledgement letters to appropriate donorsParticipate in cultivation events and programs, locally and nationallyWork with the Business Office to ensure timely gift processing and recordingStay current in the fundraising profession through appropriate listservs, blogs, websites, publications, conferences, and professional associationsBest apply by date: February 9, 2024QualificationsBachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferredRelated experience leading a similar program in a not-for-profit environment, preferably educationHigh degree of initiative along with strong organizational skillsKnowledge of fundraising principles and strategies preferredDemonstrated success closing major gift solicitationsAbility to read and interpret documents and write routine reports and correspondenceAbility to work collaboratively with all constituentsDemonstrated competency with internet functions, as well as all relevant software applications; experience with Raiser's Edge a plusExperience cultivating donor relationships and fundraisingHigh professional and ethical standards in handling confidential informationAbility to organize and complete multiple tasks with close attention to detail and deadlinesExcellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skillsAbility to think and plan strategically and creativelyMust be willing to work extended hours and travel as neededGeneralMust demonstrate and enthusiastically support the School's Mission.
