FMS is primarily responsible for financial policy oversight, quality assurance and financial services at Stanford University and its affiliated entities. It also serves as a liaison to the hospitals and the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center (SLAC). The FMS work environment is grounded by core values that include adapting to change, engaging in curiosity, celebrating accomplishments, and encouraging an inclusive environment where everyone is valued, respected, and can thrive.Stanford University's Procurement Services department seeks a Contracts Officer 1 who will be responsible for reviewing contract requests for various services agreements and coordinating the intake process to support our University client groups. Core Job Responsibilities:
      Review and process contract requests for constructions services, professional/technical services, consulting services and other service agreements submitted on behalf of the entire UniversityEffectively communicate with University schools and other client groups to obtain sufficient information of the potential business transaction to confirm the prerequisite steps prior to proceeding with a procurement contractPartner with Global Business Services, Office of Sponsored Research, Office of Technology Licensing and other stakeholders to clarify internal policies of the entire University and redirect the contract request as necessaryProvide advice and guidance to University campus requesters of the procurement contract process and obtain necessary documentation required for a procurement contractWork in a team environment to support and implement strategic Procurement and process improvement initiatives
    Qualifications:
      Required experience level: Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of experience reviewing, drafting and negotiating commercial agreements.Preferred experience level: advanced degree (JD or MBA) and 1+ years of experience reviewing, drafting and negotiating commercial agreementsStrong business, analytical, and organizational skills to appropriately set priorities and triage a heavy workflowOutstanding communications skills to manage relationships with various clients and stakeholdersMature and sound judgment to provide timely advice as to potential contractual risks, compliance issues, and business needs
