    Description

    Overview

    • This role will be responsible for providing direct patient care to assigned patients within the Emergency Department and serve as clinical leader to other staff.
    • The successful candidate will also participate in the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP) and work towards increasing levels of compensation through nursing education and national certifications.
    • This part-time position offers the opportunity to work rotating shifts in a challenging and dynamic environment.
    • Our ideal candidate is a highly motivated and experienced RN who is comfortable treating patients across all age groups, from neonate to geriatric.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide safe and effective direct patient care to assigned patients.
    • Implement and document individualized care plans in collaboration with healthcare team.
    • Assist with special tests and procedures as needed.
    • Participate in orientation and preceptor training of new personnel once preceptor training is successfully completed.
    • Institute emergency measures as needed.
    • Document patient medical records and administer medication per Seven Rights.
    • Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and families.
    • Participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities.
    • Follow patient safety protocols and report potential patient safety concerns in a timely manner.
    • Encourage patients to take an active role in their own care.

    Qualifications

    • Graduate of nationally accredited nursing program.
    • Current RN license in NM or state with reciprocal agreement.
    • CPR for Healthcare/BLS Certification or Professional Rescuers Certification required, obtained within 30 days of hire.
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification required within 6 months of hire.
    • Nationally Certified in area of specialty preferred.
    • Team-oriented mindset and excellent communication skills.
    • Physical ability to meet demands of the job.
