POSITION SUMMARYPosition Summary:
Provides nursing care under the supervision of a registered nurse.
Assembles needed supplies/equipment before and during the surgical procedure while maintaining standards of care established for the patient scheduled for a procedure.
The surgical technician sets up the procedure, anticipates the physicians needs and hands supplies and instruments to the physician. Takes assigned call.POSITION QUALIFICATIONSMinimum EducationHigh school or equivalentCompletion of an anatomy and physiology course preferredMinimum ExperienceOn-the-job trainingRequired Registration/License/CertificationBLS certification to be obtained within 90 days of employmentCertified Surgical Tech (CRT) certification preferred
