    Job Title: Senior Controls Engineer – BMS (Data Centers)

    Location: Pelzer, SC

    Job Summary

    We are seeking a Controls Design Engineer (BMS) to support the design and integration of Facility/Building Management Systems (FMS/BMS) for data centers and modular infrastructure projects. This role focuses on controls architecture, system integration, and coordination across electrical, mechanical, and architectural disciplines from design through commissioning.

    The engineer will develop control strategies, drawings, documentation, and sequences of operation in alignment with customer requirements, codes, and industry standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Design FMS/BMS solutions for data centers and mission-critical facilities
    • Develop control system drawings, riser diagrams, I/O lists, and sequences of operation
    • Coordinate BMS integration with electrical power systems, HVAC/thermal systems, and life-safety interfaces
    • Work with third-party vendors and system integrators on control schemes and equipment selection
    • Support design phases including schematic, detailed, and construction documentation
    • Review and approve control system submittals and documentation
    • Participate in system testing, commissioning, FAT/SAT, and site acceptance activities
    • Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and customer specifications
    • Provide technical support during construction and integration phases
    • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams and external partners

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent relevant experience
    • Minimum 4+ years of experience in Controls Engineering or BMS design
    • Strong knowledge of FMS/BMS systems, architecture, and integration
    • Familiarity with communication protocols such as Modbus, SNMP, TCP/IP, RS-485, Ethernet
    • Experience with AutoCAD; Revit exposure preferred
    • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and equipment specifications
    • Strong documentation, communication, and coordination skills
    • Detail-oriented with solid problem-solving ability

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience supporting data center or mission-critical facilities
    • Exposure to PLC-based or relay-based control systems
    • Understanding of local and national building and electrical codes
    • PE license (preferred but not required)
