    In this role, as the Quality Improvement Administrator, you will provide leadership, oversight, planning, education, training, comprehensive quality assurance, and performance improvement programs that impact all OHBH departments.

    You will report to the chief quality officer, and lead, direct, and monitor patient care policy, standards, and regulations to transform lives by supporting sustainable recovery, independence, and wellness of OHBH.

    You will ensure that the hospital meets all state and federal hospital licensing and certification requirements, clinical standards and practices, and direct patient care and treatment standards.

    You will also ensure OHBH is in compliance with DSHS, BHA, and Joint Commission (TJC) standards, policies, and requirements including continuous quality improvement, and is the department lead for all audits that are conducted by internal and external governing/accrediting bodies.

    You will provide quality improvement information and solutions for projects involving data collection design, methodology, statistical analysis, and evaluation. You will be responsible for planning and implementing hospital-wide Quality Improvements (QI) activities approved by the Chief Quality Officer

    Some of what you'll do


    • Responsible for the coordination, implementation, and oversight of the Quality Improvement Program across the institution.
    • Direct, guide, coordinate, and oversee all survey readiness, ensuring the institution meets accreditation and certification activities OHBH-wide.
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive compliance plan, auditing/monitoring process, and other measures to ensure the sustainability of the plan.
    • Plan, develop, and implement OHBH-wide performance improvement initiatives and quality standards in the provision of psychiatric inpatient treatment.
    • Provide a planned, systematic approach to identifying, designing, measuring, prioritizing, and monitoring all quality improvement activities.
    • Increase OHBH's capacity to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of their programs, practices, use of resources, and the impact of the systems improvements.
    • Establish a continuous performance and quality improvement effort and a monitoring and reporting system.
    • Ensure required compliance with CoPs/ TJC is complete, organized, and available in preparation for accreditation and certification surveys.
    • Work collaboratively with administrative and clinical leadership on compliance with regulatory requirements, best practices, and compliance with the conditions of participation specified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Standards of Care under the Joint Commission (TJC).
    • Ensure CMS quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) standards and regulations are reflected OHBH-wide to include wards and departments.
    • Lead a team of auditors, oversee the development of hospital-wide audits to meet the needs of compliance, and coordinate with other quality departments to ensure data collection, tracking, and monitoring processes were in place.
    • Develop and coordinate daily, weekly, or monthly survey readiness activities for the hospital.
    • Coordinate the implementation of best practice standards and policies directing the hospital while collaborating with other divisions, departments, and disciplines throughout OHBH.
    • Assist in the development of corrective action plans, plans of correction, and other action planning needs of OHBH.

    Additionally, they must demonstrate their knowledge and experience in managing multiple areas of compliance with regulatory requirements of federal and state laws and have experience working in a 24/7 institution/program in a complex environment.

    Who should apply?


    • Bachelor's degree with a major area of study in public administration, business, nursing, health services administration, or a closely allied field.
    • Five years of experience with certification, accreditation, and regulatory survey processes including the development of corrective action plans in a TJC-accredited and/or CMS-certified facility and/or psychiatric hospital.
    • Three years of supervisory experience.
    • Three years of work experience managing complex projects through all phases from initial planning through implementation, completion, and evaluation.
    • Two years of experience in quality assurance and improvement.
    • Proven ability to work effectively with stakeholders such as community agencies and advocacy groups.
    • Demonstrated ability to use computer programs (e.g. Microsoft Office) to produce reports, documents, & presentations.
    • Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating performance improvement activities
    • Experience with process improvement methods including, but not limited to, Lean, Six Sigma, or other quality improvement methodologies
    • Practical experience and proven success in program development, implementation, continuous improvement, and model integration
    • Demonstrated critical and applied quantitative analysis skills.

    Preferred/desired education, experience, and competencies:

    • A Master's degree in business administration, Nursing, Public Health, Health Administration, or a closely allied field is strongly preferred.
    • Knowledge of applicable RCW, WAC, Medicaid State Plan and waiver, HIPAA rules and regulations.
    • Work experience in an executive management position at a TJC-accredited and/or CMS-certified psychiatric hospital.
    • Performance measurement and change management expertise.
    • Knowledge and experience with certification, accreditation, and regulatory survey process to include the development of corrective action plans in a TJC-accredited and or CMS-certified facility.
