    Minimum Qualifications - Education and Experience


    • High School Diploma or GED
    • Completion of a 1 year technical or vocational course of study in the appropriate area.
    • 1 year of experience in general automotive, diesel, and collision repair.
    Preferred Education & Experience


    Completion of a 1 year technical or vocational course of study in the appropriate area and 2 years' experience in general automotive, diesel and collision repair.

    Possess two (2) Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications.

    Licenses and Certifications

    Valid State of Georgia Class B CDL License required or must obtain within six (6) months of employment.

    General Description and Classification Standards:
    Performs semi-skilled work involving the operation and maintenance of vehicles and equipment.

    Duties may include but are not limited to running diagnostic tests on vehicles, completing work requests, performing fleet management tasks, reporting, and maintaining equipment which includes tow trucks, forklifts, battery power packs, auto code scanners, key cutters and other equipment used in the daily operation of the garage.

    Supervision Received Works under direct supervision of the Fleet Manager and Supervisor; follows standard procedures and written instructions to accomplish assigned tasks.


    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
    These are typical responsibilities for this position and should not be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. May perform other duties as assigned.

    Completes work requests; reviews vehicle service history; verifies warranty status; completes maintenance or repairs; advises vehicle status.

    Performs and/or assist with routine minor repairs, replace worn drive belts, hoses, brakes and filters on vehicles and off-road equipment: Assists with fleet management; assesses repair or service needs of vehicle; runs diagnostic tests on vehicles; may schedule towing for disabled vehicles, arrange pick-up or dispatch operable vehicles to applicable service facility for repair; performs post service inspections.

    Assists with reporting; compiles statistical information regarding labor, vehicle downtime and repair history.

    Operates and maintains equipment, including tow trucks, forklifts, battery power packs, auto code scanners, key cutters and other equipment used in the daily operation of the garage.

    Decision Making Follows standardized procedures and written instructions to accomplish assigned tasks.
