Position Summary: Work with management and all other associates to provide a high level of customer service, be punctual, work your schedule, conduct yourself at all times in a professional business manner, assist in any way possible and as directed to provide for a clean and safe store environment, other duties as assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Duties:

1. Observe all store rules and Company Policies.
2. Maintain a neat, well-groomed personal appearance at all times and observe Company dress code.
3. Adhere to all local, state, and federal health and civil code regulations.
4. Assist in receiving and unloading of merchandise. Check and verify grocery receiving to ensure that items listed on vendor invoices are all delivered. Check products for quality, count, and condition.
5. Take stock to storage or shelf areas.
6. Open cartons and price items accurately and legibly, keep store management informed of pricing problem areas or discrepancies.
7. Order product and maintain inventory control.
8. Handle damaged and spoiled products according to Company Policy and assist in controlling the level of damaged goods.
9. Assist customers in retrieving items from inaccessible areas or in obtaining products that are either located in the back room or that they may have difficulty in handling.
10. Comply fully with all Safety Policies and Procedures.
11. Perform all duties according to Company Policies and Procedures.
12. Perform other duties and assignments as directed.
13. Greet all customers and provide them with prompt and highly friendly, courteous service or assistance.

Reporting Relationship:

1. Grocery Manager
2. Indirectly reporting to Store Managers

Subordinate Staff (providing direct supervision):

1. None

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Some companies may have a minimum age requirement of 18.
• Deli counter or food preparation experience may be required.
• Ability to lift heavy items, ranging from 5 to 50 lbs, and operate equipment, such as fork lifts, pricing gun, transport dollies, etc
• Excellent customer service, communication, and math skills.
• Ability to speak, read and fluent in English to ensure fluent communication with customers, coworkers, and supervisors who only speak English.

Work Environment:

• Store Climate can range, averaging 70-78 degrees, freezer and walk-ins low as 20 degrees.
• Moderate level noise
• Twisting, slippery floor surfaces, cluttered floor surfaces, toxic exposure, nuisance dust, fumes, sprays, hazardous cleaning solutions, operation of department equipment

Travel:

• No travel needed

Physical Requirements:

• Standing, walking, reaching, bending, twisting, ability to carry/lift 40 lbs, push/pull 200 lbs, ability to stock 235 cases per 8 hour shift.
• Frequently required to reach with hands and arms.
• Ability to stand and move for up to 8 hours per day
• Repetitive Action - Pricing with marking gun, opening cases using safety cutter, stocking product on shelves and displays, return all overstock to stockroom.

LIFTING: Average Weight: 5 lbs up to 50 lbs. Frequency: Daily
