- Delivers instruction based on the principals of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) for select students.
- Performs Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA) by initiating the FBA process, assisting teachers in performing data collection, and making final analysis of target behaviors.
- Assists school staff in using FBA results to develop Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP) for individual students, including recommendations for specific techniques to modify behavior.
- Conducts classroom behavioral observations and other informal academic and developmental assessments to assist in developing curriculum, prompting, environmental changes and goals.
- Assists teachers in developing and implementing behavior management programs for the classroom.
- Assists teachers in establishing a developmentally appropriate classroom including: (a) setting up an appropriate classroom environment, (b) using a developmentally appropriate curriculum, (c) locating materials, (d) providing professional literature and information on teaching methods, techniques and models, and (e) identifying problem areas in the classroom.
- Provides assessments for individual students.
- Plans and oversees the development and implementation of programs and best practices related to instruction using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) for students.
- Maintains accurate and complete student records following the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
- Develops materials, resources and professional learning to staff in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and/or other evidence-based methodologies related to addressing the needs of students with behavior difficulties.
- Designs, maintains, and analyzes data collection systems based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
- Prepares a variety of reports for the purpose of documenting case history, assessments, and progress monitoring.
- Conducts trainings as needed.
- Utilizes a collaborative approach to solve problems and coordinate services among professionals such as teachers, paraprofessionals, nurses, social workers, occupational and physical therapists, psychologists, juvenile authorities, and law enforcement.
- Consults with school administrators about significant behavioral problems and possible solutions.
- Consults with parents and outside services providers related to school behavioral problems.
- Participates in special education placement, Individualized Education Program, and Manifestation Determination Review meetings.
- Familiarizes school staff and administration with anger management and prevention techniques.
- Performs any other duties assigned by Student Services administration.

Summary and relationship to the curriculum: All positions will strengthen the delivery of instruction to support the system mission.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
a) Education and/or Experience: Graduate of an accredited school of Applied Behavior Analysis.
b) Certificate or License Required: Hold certification or be eligible to be a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
c) Language Skills: Must have ability to apply teaching and learning principles to support the understanding of learning and behavior, ability to relay technical information to others in understandable terms, and ability to work effectively with diverse populations. Must have ability to write professional correspondences and reports. Must have ability to effectively present and articulate information in one-to-one and group situations to students, parents, school personnel and community agencies.
d) Mathematical Skills: Must have knowledge and understanding of general statistical procedures. Must have ability to collect and analyze assessment data, predict outcomes, formulate strategies for obtaining a desired result, and report/present findings in print and chart/graph.
e) Reasoning Ability: Must be able to facilitate the problem solving processes and use deductive reasoning. Must have ability to synthesize workable options from given facts, and assist in the development of workable solutions. Must effectively organize, plan and prioritize work.
f) Technical Ability: Must have considerable knowledge of Microsoft Office and other job specified technologies.
g) Customer Service Skills: Must be capable of interacting and communicating effectively with district employees, stakeholders, community members, and the general public using tactful and helpful customer service.
