    This position provides organization, planning, and direction of maintenance, technical changes/ improvements and technical documentation for a production plant. This position also provides technical expertise to maintain and continuously improve technology and maintenance process in order to minimize cost and to insure the technical means for safe operation. It is essential that the Plant Engineering Assistant contributes to the Plant Leadership Team.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the technical care and condition of a production unit and the day-to-day maintenance in cooperation with the Plant Engineer, Area Engineer and Production Superintendent.
  • Assures the defined technical availability of the production plant according to the production requirements.
  • Identifies shortcomings and improvement opportunities in existing processes, systems and procedures, and use established change management programs to address them.
  • Deliver required outcomes by coordinating activities of subcontractors and suppliers and acting as a primary point of contact for them while working within an established contract management plan.
  • Help production and maintenance personal to get the most out of knowledge management systems by offering support and advice.
  • Provides plant specific technical expertise, ensuring regulatory compliance of technical documentation and maintenance practices.
  • REQUIREMENTS

  • The incumbent must possess broad based skills in maintenance, maintenance planning, scheduling and organization of maintenance activities.
  • Experience in planning and scheduling of larger maintenance activities required, experience with large plant shutdowns is preferred.
  • HS Diploma required, and 3+ years experience in maintenance planning is required for this position. SMRP certification preferred
  • The incumbent should have experience developing solid working relationships with production personnel. The incumbent must be willing to teach and mentor various levels of production personnel.
  • Experience negotiating without supervision and providing technical guidance when required
  • Applies understanding of the business environment and objectives to develop solutions without supervision
  • Supports business processes without supervision by understanding and effectively using standard office equipment and standard software packages (SAP Maintenance module), while providing technical guidance as needed. Professional Scheduling Software experience preferred
  • Manages and applies safe systems of work without supervision and provides technical guidance when required.
