    **Senior Grants Accountant Qualifications:**

    • **Bachelor's degree** in Accounting, Finance, or related field
    • **Minimum of 5 years' experience** in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in HUD accounting, ideally in a nonprofit environment
    • **Thorough understanding** of HUD regulations, policies, and procedures
    • **Proficient** in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; HUD-related software experience is a plus
    • **Strong analytical skills** with the ability to decipher intricate financial data
    • **Detail-oriented** with a focus on accuracy in financial reporting
    • **Effective communication** and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across departments

    **Senior Grants Accountant Responsibilities:**

    • **Oversee HUD-related accounting processes**, including reconciliations and financial reporting
    • **Ensure compliance** with HUD regulations, keeping abreast of changes and making necessary adjustments
    • **Work closely** with internal teams to gather required data for HUD reporting
    • **Analyze financial statements** and provide insights including budget vs. actuals and forecasts
    • **Assist in developing internal controls** to safeguard HUD assets and ensure reporting accuracy
    • **Collaborate** with external auditors during HUD audits
    • **Participate in special projects** to enhance finance department efficiency
