    JOB SUMMARY:


    The Communications Planning team is responsible for the development of creative and innovative communication strategies and the delivery of integrated marketing campaigns for the destination.

    The Manager is responsible for developing the communication strategies, creative briefs and comms plans that align with and deliver on the overall brand and business objectives.

    They will collaborate in close partnership with Brand & Marketing Strategy, Integrated Media, Public Relations, Digital Marketing, and creative teams (internal and external).

    This position requires strong understanding of how people think and behave, what's happening in our popular culture and a working knowledge of media, marketing, communications, and experience landscape.


    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Communications Strategy

    Bring the consumer's voice to life for creative teams and stakeholders by uncovering insights about our audience, brand, competition, and culture at large.

    Provide an expertise in the business to guide other departments and teams.
    Develop the communication strategy and campaign plans for the business.
    Develop strategic documents including creative briefs, comms frameworks and comms plans that inspire creative development.
    Work directly with Project Management to define scope of work and budget for tactics.
    Lead strategic conversations and presentation for key campaigns.
    Provide POV on what communication strategy can and should be for an agency in today's landscape.
    Communications Planning
    Collaborate with all key stakeholder teams, serving as the connective tissue between all groups.
    Ensure that actionable, up-to-date information about the media landscape and ecosystem is communicated regularly to internal teams and stakeholders.
    Evaluate communications or media opportunities and provide sound recommendations on those opportunities.
    Develop plans and recommendations that go beyond the conventional media.
    Work directly with Project Management to define scope of work and budget for tactics.
    Accurately represent the consumer point view and comms strategy when reviewing work
    Management
    Manage project teams associated with the development of communication tactics.
    Manage and coach supporting team members to accomplish team goals.
    Ability to operate in the gray and bring structure to ambiguous assignments

    Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.

    Performs other duties as assigned.


    EDUCATION :
    Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing or Communications required.

    EXPERIENCE :
    5+ years of relevant Comms Planning experience at an advertising agency, internal agency.
    Travel/tourism or entertainment experience is a plus.

    Proven track record of effective and inventive use of consumer data and research to develop strategic deliverables or creative execution.

    Passion for advertising communications, media channels, popular culture and how people consume and act on all these things.
    Ability to evaluate and change priorities daily and to perform efficiently within a fast-paced team environment.
    Strong communicator capable of delivering concise messages to various audiences.
    Insatiable curiosity that compels you to keep learning about consumers, clients, and collaborators.
