    Job Description:
    The team is in need of a penetration tester to aid the 48th Cyber Space Test Squadron, the United States Air Force, and the United States Space Force based in Eglin Air Force Base, Florida.
    The Cybersecurity Penetration Test Team carries out security analysis and evaluations on Air Force and Space Force systems to comprehend cybersecurity vulnerabilities better, assess security risks, and provide recommendations for corrective actions.

    We seek individuals with a cyber-background who excel in the field of penetration testing. Moreover, technical experience with Kali Linux and other penetration testing tools is highly desirable.
    Additional experience may encompass vulnerability analysis, network/security engineering, network protocol structures, as well as interpreted and compiled computer languages. Moreover, knowledge of information technologies such as Windows, Linux, Unix, Cisco, Databases, web servers, computer virtualization, containers, and cloud computing is a plus.
    Having one or more cyber certifications within the listed areas and a strong drive to learn the remaining ones is advantageous.
    Position responsibilities can range from compliance testing to penetration testing, based on skillset.
    During test events, work hours might extend and vary. Typically, test events last for 1-2 weeks. Travel requirements usually entail 1 week per month but are subject to change.
    This position delivers cybersecurity assistance directly to the 48th Cyberspace Test Squadron at Eglin AFB, FL.
    This assistance includes the following:
    Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    • Conduct independent penetration testing, data collection, test automation, and reporting
    • Develop test tools and strategies for cybersecurity testing in DOD
    • Execute system security analysis on systems and/or software to comprehend and pinpoint vulnerabilities
    • Perform hands-on testing that demands significant technical expertise with various operating systems such as Windows, Linux, Unix, IOS (network), as well as software/databases like SQL Server, Oracle
    • Offer technical guidance and proficiency to test teams
    • Effectively document and communicate test results to both technical and non-technical audiences in written and oral formats
    • Apply in-depth knowledge of Windows and Linux (including Kali) Operating Systems
    Required Experience:
    • Technical BS Degree and a minimum of 3-10 years of relevant experience
    • Applicable Associates Degree and a minimum of 7-11 years of relevant experience
    • High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 9-15 years of relevant experience
    • US Citizenship; Ability to obtain an interim DoD Secret clearance prior to start date and secure a final Top Secret (Single Scope Background Investigation) upon completion of the government process
    • Experience utilizing modern penetration testing tools and techniques
    • Competence in identifying and exploiting web application vulnerabilities
    • Analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Strong organizational, decision-making, as well as verbal and written communication skills
    • Excellent self-initiative and self-motivation with the capability to work autonomously
    • Efficiency in working effectively within small and large teams to tackle complex issues
    • Must be able to acquire DOD 8570 IAT Level 3 certification (CASP, CISSP, etc.) and Cyber Security Service Provider (CSSP) Analyst - certification (CEH, GCIH, etc.) within 6 months from the date of hire, and sustain certifications throughout employment
    Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
    • Active DoD Top-Secret clearance highly preferred
    • Experience in conducting penetration test events
    • Proficiency in source code vulnerability analysis
    • Understanding of network security/engineering
    • Familiarity with common wired and wireless network protocol structures
    • Experience with interpreted languages (Python, Ruby, JavaScript, PHP, etc.)
    • Familiarity with compiled languages (C, C++, Assembly, Java, etc.)
    • Current DOD 8570 IAT Level 3 certification (CASP, CISSP, etc.) and Cyber Security Service Provider (CSSP) Analyst - Certified (CEH, GCIH, etc.) highly desirable
    Certifications:
