The Financial Controller - Manufacturing company will be a key leader for an Award Winning Manufacturing Company located in Hartford, CT.

The business has entities in 6 different continents and the Financial Controller will be responsible for their larger key markets - North America and parts of Europe.

Job Description

Responsible for:
Monthly financial statements - preparing, reviewing, and analyzing journal entries, reconciliations, and reports, in accordance with IFRS.

Managing key accounting concepts - revenue recognition, intercompany transactions, payroll entries, lease accounting, fixed assets, bad debt reserves, and consolidating and consolidated financials.

Improving financial results by understanding and improving unexpected variances, identifying and highlighting trends
Oversee the entire accounts payable and accounts receivable function, including issuing 1099s.

Complete sales tax filings for the US, Canada, and the UK, and business tax filings, such as business registrations, personal property tax returns, unclaimed property returns, etc.

Manage sales tax exemption certificates and process.

Manage yearly reviews, audits, and income tax preparation with external accounting and tax firms for the parent company and subsidiaries of the company.

Perform cost accounting duties to prepare semi-annual standard cost roll and review transfer pricing rates.
Review service department rates and update as needed and update pricing as requested.
Monitor and forecast cash flow.
Manage UK company operations, consisting of customer service, customer orders, AR, AP, purchasing, and logistics.
Collaborate with Function Leaders to prepare, review, and finalize the annual budget.

Establish and maintain internal controls and procedures that are effective and designed appropriately to verify the integrity of all systems, processes, and data.

Lad process improvement projects to automate and streamline current finance procedures to maximize the contribution to strategic business goals.

Manage Accounting and Finance team through work allocation, training, and problem resolution; evaluate performance of assigned personnel; and motivate employees to achieve peak productivity and performance.

Act as back-up to personnel that are out of office.
The Successful Applicant
The Financial Controller - Manufacturing should have the following skill sets and qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Related Degree
Master's Degree in Relevant Field preferred
CPA preferred
Finance team leadership tenure within the Manufacturing Sector

Software/Systems:
Infor, Microsoft Office, PowerBI

Strong interpersonal and leadership qualities
