- High school diploma or GED required.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an active/current RN license in Washington State.
- Current BLS certification required.
- Basic computer knowledge required.
- At least one (1) year recent full-time experience providing direct patient care in an outpatient or acute care medical setting preferred.
- Conduct initial assessments of patients via phone or in person to determine the urgency of their medical needs.
- Provide timely and accurate medical advice to patients based on established protocols and guidelines.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure seamless coordination of care for patients.
- Document patient interactions, assessments, and recommendations accurately in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Educate patients about their health conditions, medications, and treatment plans.
- Assist with medication refills, referrals to specialists, and scheduling of appointments as needed.
- Assist patients with financial assistance application for medication
- Monitor and respond to patient inquiries, concerns, and requests in a professional and empathetic manner.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
- Stay updated on current medical practices, guidelines, and protocols relevant to primary care and triage nursing.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Uses the principles of growth and development to assess each patient's age-specific needs and provides age-specific treatment and care; and communicates age appropriate physical and psycho/social assessment.
- Provides patient education that facilitates recovery, self-care, health maintenance, health promotion and wellness; documents patient teaching, tools utilized and patient understanding.
- Maintains a clean, well-stocked, safe environment for patients and staff. Keeps patient care and utility areas neat and clean.
- Answers phone, takes messages, assists physician/provider or other staff as needed.
- Participates in departmental and organizational quality management activities.
- Cooperates with other personnel to achieve department objectives and maintain good employee relations, interdepartmental objectives, and infection prevention policies.
- Attends various staff meetings and mandatory in-services as required; completes required education on safety, disaster plans, infection prevention, etc.
- Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

General Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides nursing care activities under the direction of a physician/provider in Family Medicine within his/her scope of practice (RCW The RN may not accept delegation of acts not within his/her scope of practice.
