    Job Description:


    The Director of Marketing for the Okoboji Tourism Committee is responsible for administrative, operating and marketing functions of the Okoboji Tourism Committee, a committee of the Iowa Great Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce.

    These duties include analyzing, recommending and implementing an annual Marketing Plan and Budget that promotes tourism in the Iowa Great Lakes Area.


    Primary Responsibilities:
    ∙Develop and implement an annual marketing plan for the Okoboji Tourism Committee that promotes tourism on a year-round basis for the area, with the review and approval of the OTC.

    ∙Produce, annually, a high-quality printed tourism magazine. This includes the magazine design, ad sales, printing, shipping and distribution.

    ∙Develop, maintain and forecast a digital strategy and maintain web and social media sites to engage visitors and promote the Iowa Great Lakes Area.

    ∙Effectively manage, train and direct Okoboji Tourism staff to duties as assigned.

    ∙Keep up to date on marketing trends including digital, print and analytical information.

    ∙Effectively inform, advise and build professional relationships with the OTC, Chamber Board of Directors, Chamber Members and Vacation Okoboji advertisers and appropriate government officials as to the plans and progress of the Marketing Plan.

    ∙Professionally and effectively work with the Iowa Great Lakes Area Chamber Director and Staff to promote the area. Attending regular staff meetings and events in support of tourism to the Iowa Great Lakes.

    Education, Training and Experience:
    ∙Bachelor's degree in marketing, mass communications or equivalent experience in advertising, marketing, public relations, communications, or any combination preferred.

    ∙Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills

    ∙Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

    ∙Professional knowledge of current and upcoming marketing trends including, but not limited to, website development, content management, social media marketing, digital marketing and marketing analysis.

    ∙Valid Iowa Driver's License required.
