    Position Details:
    Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Med Surg, General Surgery 3WThis position is on a General Surgery Medical-Surgical inpatient unit. This isnotan Operating Room (OR) role.

    Location:
    Mercy Hospital South Kennerly Rd, St. Louis, Missouri 63128

    Schedule:
    Part-Time | 24 hours/week

    Shift:
    Day Shift | 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM

    Sign-On Bonus:
    Up to$2,000for part-time and full-time caregivers
    About the Unit — General Surgery (3W)

    General Surgery 3W provides care for patients recovering from a variety of surgical procedures, ranging from simple appendectomies to complex colon resections requiring colostomy placement.

    This unit also specializes in bariatric procedures and offers hands-on experience with postoperative monitoring, wound care, pain management, and surgical recovery pathways.

    Overview

    Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care under the supervision of person(s) licensed by a State regulatory board to prescribe medication and treatment, or under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse (RN) .

    Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.
    Qualifications

    Education:

    High school diploma or GED equivalentLicensure:
    Graduate of an accredited practical nursing programMust hold and maintain a current LPN license in Missouri and meet all State Board of Nursing requirementsComparable education experience and successful licensure may be consideredExperience:

    New graduates and experienced LPNs welcomeCertifications:
    Basic Life Support (BLS)through the American Heart Association (or within 30 days of hire)LPN-IV Certificationcompleted prior to hire or within 3 months (up to 1 year based on unit requirements)Physical Requirements:
