    Job Description and Duties

    Metropolitan State Hospital is located in the city of Norwalk.

    DSH-Metropolitan, Human Resources Department is accepting applications for Psychiatric Technician Instructor, Permanent/Fulltime. Working Title: Psychiatric Technician Instructor - Nursing Education Department.

    Under the direction of the Supervising Registered Nurse (SRN)/Nursing Education Director (NED), the Psychiatric Technician Instructor will provide training and supervision to Psychiatric Technician Assistants and Psychiatric Technician Students in a training course designed to prepare them as Psychiatric Technicians.

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to: training all disciplines in Therapeutic Strategies and Interventions (TSI), conducting non-medical/surgical nursing classes, providing hospital orientation for affiliated schools and colleges, conducting CPR classes, and conducting emergency drills on the patient care units.
