- Prepares nutritious and attractive meals ensuring special nutritional needs are met
- Maintains proper sanitation and safety practices
- Educates on menu, dietary options and healthier options and answers any questions
- Review patient orders , making sure the selections comply with physician ordered modified diets
- Communicates diet order and changes to ensure that patients receive accurate and timely meals and snacks
- Sets up and breaks down the patient trays ensuring patient safety and satisfaction
- Records, modifies and delivers food using two patient identifiers according to physician diet orders
- Collaborates with nursing, identifying patients with functional impairments that may need further feeding assistance
