    Summary:

    As an Inventory Control Specialist in the Supply Chain group, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, conducting cycle counts, and identifying and resolving inventory discrepancies. You will play a crucial role in managing inventory adjustments, monitoring aged and expiring inventory, and analyzing work-in-progress (WIP) reports. Your meticulous attention to detail will contribute to reducing inventory variance and optimizing our supply chain operations.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Cycle Counting:
      • Plan and conduct regular cycle counts (A, B, C) to ensure inventory accuracy.
      • Investigate and resolve discrepancies identified during cycle counts.
      • Collaborate with other teams to address recurring discrepancies and develop corrective actions.
    • Inventory Adjustments in D365:
    • Perform inventory adjustments in Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) as needed.
    • Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions in D365.
    • Collaborate with the finance team to ensure proper documentation and reporting of adjustments.
    • Aged Inventory Management:
    • Monitor and report on aged inventory, identifying items with low turnover rates.
    • Work with procurement and sales teams to develop strategies for reducing aged inventory.
    • Expiring Batches:
    • Track inventory with expiration dates, ensuring proper rotation and timely usage.
    • Alert stakeholders about batches nearing expiration and coordinate actions to minimize losses.
    • WIP Report Analysis:
    • Review work-in-progress (WIP) reports to track production and inventory status.
    • Identify potential issues or bottlenecks in WIP and collaborate with production teams to address them.
    • Inventory Variance Analysis:
    • Analyze inventory variances to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
    • Develop and maintain inventory control metrics to track and improve performance.
    • Assesses inventory reports and order patterns to identify items projected order quantities.
    • Provides inventory reports to VP of Supply Chain.
    • Operates forklift truck when necessary.
    • Performs other related duties as requested.

    Qualifications, Education, and/or Experience Required:

    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
    • Forklift operator certification preferred.
    • 2+ years of experience in inventory control or supply chain roles.
    • Experience with computerized inventory systems required.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) or other enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems preferred.

    Required Skills/Abilities:

    • Excellent communication skills with warehouse workers, purchasing department, and outside vendors.
    • Basic understanding of inventory control procedures.
    • Proficient keyboarding skills.
    • Extremely organized and able to work with minimum supervision.
    • Ability to develop professional relationships with outside vendors.
    • Ability to perform basic math calculations.
    • Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

    Language Skills:

    • English required, bilingual (Spanish) a plus.

    Physical Demands:

    • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer, or standing and walking throughout a warehouse environment.
    • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times.
    • Must be able to navigate warehouse and reach items both high and low.

    Work Environment:

    • Non-temperature-controlled warehouse, non-temperature-controlled production floor, temperature-controlled office.
    • Must be able to work in an environment with variable noise levels.
    • Must be able to work in a manufacturing setting with exposure to various product-related chemicals.
