The University of West Georgia is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as an Accessibility Specialist.The selected candidate will provide direct support to individuals with accessibility needs as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). They will conduct intake interviews, evaluate information from medical professionals to determine eligibility make referrals consults with diagnosticians as needed; works with individuals to determine reasonable accommodations needed for academic professional or personal success educates students families faculty staff on appropriate services for communication individuals seeking accommodations compiles distributes necessary documentation verify need accommodations assist individuals solving obstacles accommodation needs interfaces campus constituents ensure equitable access resources increases understanding issues affecting disabilities delivering presentations trainings workshops related research best practices records interactions analyzing effectiveness accommodating communicating reporting compliance program efficacy maintains confidentiality university student records applicable stays current knowledge technology equipment laws regulations standards systems related accessibility service
