    Overview



    Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. is looking for a General Ledger Accounting Manager to join our accounting team. This position is full time in our Pittsburgh, PA office.

    Primary duties include:

      Oversee day-to-day GL accounting functions and perform reviews to ensure compliance with US GAAP, external audits, and internal controls
    • Ownership of full cycle general ledger financial close process and activities related to Indirect Expenses, including recording and reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, and analysis
    • Partner closely with Financial Reporting team on monthly variance analysis and financial reporting
    • Maintains the General Ledger and Balance Sheet account reconciliations
    • Review detailed P&Ls and provide explanation of variances
    • Generate financial statements for special purpose legal entities including tax implications
    • Collaborate with Corporate Fleet and Fixed Asset accountant including depreciation and debt reconciliations and other related costs and reporting including ROI and utilization analysis
    • Record, reconcile, and analyze self-insured insurance programs
    • Analyze indirect expense general ledger including identification of missing expenses
    • Prepare quarterly Borrowing Base and bank covenant calculations
    • Annual financial budget process
    • Prepare PBC schedules for external audit and tax
    • Creation and maintenance of standard process documentation
    • Financial reporting and analysis for Office Lead Vice Presidents and VP of Operations
    • Motivate, mentor, and develop staff
    • Internal risk assessment and controls




    Qualifications



    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Accounting
    • 8-10 years of relevant accounting experience
    • Experience supervising staff and managing processes
    • Advance Microsoft Excel; PowerBI and Powerpoint is a plus
    • Ability to meet deadlines and balance multiple projects concurrently
    • Strong technical and problem solving skills

    Preferred:

    • Federal Acquisition Regulation cost accounting experience
    • Experience with Deltek Vision/Vantagepoint
    • AEC industry experience
    • Aptitude for learning internal and external management information systems
