- Work directly with artists and performers of the unCommon Stage to set up and support their technical needs during performances.
- Support the daily equipment setup and operation of audio and production systems for UCS programming and ensure seamless transitions between scheduled programs,
- Set up and operate a small, reinforcement based sound system/ production elements during live events as needed.
- Assist with artist load in, setup, and load out equipment as needed
- Ensure the smooth operation of shows and events in the venue with a focus on safety and production values.
- Communicate clear and accurate information to all parties to ensure successful events
- Ensure that venue operations comply with all city guidelines including SPL limits
- Execute efficient changeovers between events
- Set up and operate technical equipment based on paperwork provided by the production supervisor.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with the house or (in some cases) artist provided equipment.
- Populate and send shift/daily reports to provide the Production Supervisor with information about operations on any given day, technical issues that need to be addressed, and pertinent performer information for future reference/engagements.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience with small scale digital mixers and mixing on a tablet.
- Experience engaging outside theatrical/live event vendors.
- Outdoor festival/live venue technical supervisory experience
- Experience advancing and coordinating small outside events and performances.
- Ability to manage and work with diverse teams
- Ability to recognize the opportunities and limitations of the venue entertainment systems
- Ability to be organized and produce clear and thorough documentation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience setting up and operating sound systems.

Emerson Office of the Arts is seeking an eager, responsible, and dependable Entertainment Technician to support the technical operations of unCommon Stage, a seasonal outdoor performance venue on Boston Common, which will operate May through October.
The Entertainment Technician will be responsible for ensuring smooth technical operations of audio and production elements of UnCommon Stage for the season.
The Entertainment Technician will be responsible for daily oversight of the technical equipment for The Emerson unCommon Stage, an outside performance venue which will feature multiple daily performances ranging from live music, poetry, dance, comedy, and other forms of live entertainment.
The Entertainment Technician will be responsible for supporting technical aspects of events and performances and ensuring smooth technical operations during their shifts.
