Description

Youth For Tomorrow is a 501 (c) (3) and a faith based, non-profit organization, founded in 1986 by Hall of Fame Football Coach Joe Gibbs. The organization is large, diverse, experienced and committed to serving at-risk youth. In our residential treatment program, we serve males and females ages 12 to 18 years old to include youth with varying mental health diagnoses, survivors of trauma, PSB, pregnant and parenting teens, and survivors of commercial sexual exploitation.

• Facilitate the development of Goals and Objectives Plans (GOP) for each LTFC resident by completing needs assessments within the first 30 days.
• Assure necessary input is provided to the Case Managers and in the UC Portal within 5 days of UC arrival to aid in the facilitation of the ISP.
• Provide input associated with the counseling component of the program to the Case Managers through inputting Case Review information in the UC Portal regularly for each resident.
• Perform group therapy weekly for residents or as requested by supervisor.
• Develop Behavior Management Plans with input from the House Coordinator, Clinician, Case Manager and family of the child per case needs.
• Facilitate social skills and progress group therapy through the Counseling program on a weekly basis. . Weekend and evening required due to the schedules of the residents.
• Demonstrate a proactive approach in your support on an on-going basis to the residential team by providing them with behavior management strategies and crisis intervention support.
• Available for on-call mental health crises.
• Must be accessible via phone for consultation on mental health issues surrounding your clients.
• Participate as an active member of the Evaluation Team. Responsible to communicate team review with necessary individuals in resident's life.
• Participate as an active member of LTFC federal staffing and internal LTFC staffing. Responsible to communicate any mental health/behavior concerns to ORR representatives and clinical team.
• Work with Case Managers to make a recommendation for discharge from YFT.
• Attend all training mandated by YFT.
• All duties and responsibilities will support meeting the structured program of care outlined in DBHDS and DSS state standards (DBHDS: 12VAC ; DSS: 22 VAC
• Other duties as assigned by the CEO, or supervisor.

Qualifications

• Current LMHP in Virginia or LMHP-E (license-eligible) in the state of Virginia.
• Master's degree in social services with 2+ years and experience in working with youth.
• Ability to work under supervision in order to gain skills of assessing treatment needs and deliver appropriate interventions as requested.
• Knowledge and experience with alternative and experiential therapies.
• Bi-lingual speaking skills (Spanish and English).
• Ability to maintain all required documentation.

Core Competencies

• Knowledge of DSS and ORR policies and regulations or the ability to learn and apply what is learned.
• Ability to provide individual, group therapy, and family therapy within scope of experience.
• Considerable knowledge and skill in crisis intervention and behavior management strategies.
• Previous training or ability to complete required training in program specific assessments such as the CSSR-S, PHQ-SADS, Trauma Screeners and other assessments.
• Assist LTFC residents in stabilization, and help them to adjust to being in LTFC by teaching social skills and working with any existing behavioral issues in collaboration with the assigned case manager and clinician.
• Ability to keep record of all completed sessions for quarterly reports.
• Ability to provide crisis interventions within scope of experience.
• Knowledge of multicultural sensitivity.
